"A man a word!"

After it was announced that the main organiser of the charity event “Werte 2.0” had filed for insolvency, I took it upon myself to keep the event alive and to, at my own financial risk, further develop the sustainable concept in a public rescue mission in May 2015.

Based on the belief that a decline in values had become increasingly evident in the events sector over the past few years, the hotel Estrel Berlin and the events expert intergerma decided to create a new event concept back in 2010. Since 2011, Hotel Schloss Montabaur isn’t merely a location for events, but rather a major pillar and crucial supporter of the project.

The event “WerteEvent” (formerly called Werte 2.0) invites players of the industry to discuss the topic of values, ethics and morals. Issues such as to which extent traditional and conservative values still influence our entrepreneurial life, what changes have occurred, and which values are still present to this day are to be addressed.

These days, the WerteEvent is an established part of the events sector, and each year, all raised funds are donated to the charity “RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” – 60,000 Euro that have been raised so far. This is only made possible thanks to the active involvement of the organisers, partners and speakers, whose main motivation for their contribution lies in the event’s purpose.

After the last event in June 2015, I announced that I was intending to add a legal framework to Werte 2.0 to lay the groundwork for ongoing development.

In June 2015, I announced that I was going to take the further development of the concept into my own hands. The Werte.Foundation’s purposes are solely and purely of selfless nature. The goal and purpose are to offer independent educational opportunities regarding sustainability, values, ethics and morals through educational event formats, particularly in the hotel trade, food service industry, tourism and events sector, and to aid companies in successfully applying learnt concepts and provided guidance.

Supporting measures in PR are furthermore to be used to foster a sustainable process in order to strengthen the value orientation within companies. To achieve this goal, income generated through participation fees, sponsorship moneys and donations will fund sustainability projects such as developing a code of values, or (financially) supporting non-profitable foundations and associations following a similar purpose.
